We left the Marina Pez Vela early and went straight to an Offshore Reef to see if we could find some Wahoo. No luck on that front but the Reef was alive with life and we were plagued by large Bonitos and Jacks instead of the Wahoo & Yellow Fin Tuna we were searching for.
We had a quick jigging session which produced a huge Blue Runner, a Tuna Mackerel & a few other lost fish and then we decided to push out further which quickly paid off as we caught 2 Dorado & lost another nice one at the gaff.
We struggled to get away from green water for most of the day and as such did not get a sniff from a Billfish. We finished up the day finding a nice current break at 15 miles and added 4 more Dorado to the tally and lost/missed a few more.
Catch Report:
6 Dorado
3 Jacks
1 Tuna Mackerel
1 Blue Runner
LOTS of Bonitos
There is just a ton of turtles out there right now and we seen several couples mating as the females head close to the beaches for peak nesting season which is happening now. We also seen 2 Humpback Whales & plenty of dolphins, always something nice to see out there even if the fishing is a little slow.
Another fun day on the water!
