Just made a quick trip up to Florida for the Gray FishTag Research Annual Meeting & delighted that GOOD DAY with Captain Manuel Gabuardi & myself received the award for this years Top Fish Tagging Boat in Costa Rica.
A huge thank you to all our Anglers that fished with us this year & joined the research effort in tagging Marlin, Sailfish, Roosterfish, Mahi & many other species. Every tag deployed has its own story, some meaning more than anyone could ever know. We had countless kids taking their first Offshore Fishing trip with their parents & even a few grandparent/grandchild trips. Not only were life long family memories made but many of them now have Tag & Release Certificates or Trophy fish replica mounts hanging on the wall so that the memory will never be forgotten. To this day, I still have the Tag & Release Certificate from my very first Blue Marlin I caught in Mauritius more than 20 years ago.
Several of our great regular guests lost loved ones recently and dedicated a special fish that they caught by tagging the fish & naming it in their honour.
At the meeting we received an update of Satellite tag data on all of the fish that were tagged this year. There was some great news on Blue Marlin migrations in Costa Rica, Swordfish, Striped Bass & Redfish migrations on the East Coast of the USA. More info to follow!
A huge thanks to Alcides, Marbely & the team at the Marina Pez Vela Research Centre & Roxanne, Daysee, Christian, Bill & the Team at Gray for all of their grest support to our Charter fleet in Costa Rica.
Looking forward to an ever better 2022 where we will be deploying Satellite Tags in Roosterfish, Marlin & doing much more in the name of Fisheries Research & Conservation.
We are always looking for people to join the research effort & if you would like to get involved to sponsor a Satellite Tag & come and deploy this on one of your future trips with us, I would love to hear from you!
