After Daniel’s success with a 200lb+ Blue Marlin on his first day with us, the week quickly turned into a Marlin mission trying to get his son Christoffer his first ever Marlin. We tried hard, we travelled long distances (40+ miles some days), we caught Sailfish, Dorado & Tuna in the process but we could not manage to catch another Marlin.
In the final minutes of the final day we were in a small pack of 3 boats when our friends on Raven & Reel In both hooked into Blue Marlin right next to us within 10 minutes of each other. With amazing sights of tailwalking Blue Marlin on each side of us, after 5 long days on the water, now felt like our moment & the whole boat could feel the anticipation of a Marlin Bill breaking surface behind one of our teasers. We gave the ocean offerings of Costa Rican Imperial Beer & even threw in a few handfuls of Cheetos which always work! We did manage to catch an Injury time Sailfish in the last moments of the day but the Marlin eluded us.
A great few days on the water & Christoffer’s Marlin will have to wait for another day!

Day 2 - 1 Tuna, 1 Dorado (0 for 2 Sailfish & missed a Marlin)
Day 3 - 2 for 7 Sailfish (raised 9)
Day 4 - 1 Roosterfish, 1 Snapper, 1 Jack
Day 5 - 1 Sailfish
