Pete & Sandy enjoyed an excellent day Fishing in Quepos Costa Rica aboard GOOD DAY today.
The last 3 days have seen a consistent Sailfish bite at around 37 miles and today was no exception with great action enjoyed in the afternoon when we raised 10 Sailfish, caught 5 of them and lost a couple.
Several fish were in the 90-100lb range and were tagged and released to support research efforts.
We only caught 1 Sailfish in the morning but we witnessed a real spectacle which really made the day. Hundred of Spinner Dolphins, diving birds everywhere, Big Tuna busting the surface, huge bait balls on the surface and whales getting in on the feeding frenzy. Perhaps 50 metres from the boat a huge Whale came up and engulfed a bait ball that was on the surface. Really amazing to see up close - National Geographic stuff for sure!
So 5 for 10 on Sailfish and a GREAT DAY had by all.
We are back out there tomorrow!
