Tammy & Dwayne just spent 2 great day's Fishing aboard GOOD DAY and got the best of both worlds fishing one day Inshore & one day Offshore.
Day 1 - Parrita & Naranjo
2 Roosterfish
2 Jacks
1 nice Red Snapper
Day 2 - 30+ miles off Quepos
We didn't get many bites today but we made the most of a fairly slow day and had some great action!
First fish of the day was a HUGE 66lb Dorado which measured 63 inches (5 feet, 3 inches!). One of the biggest Dorado's caught aboard GOOD DAY for some time.
Second fish of the day was a Striped Marlin around 60lb, only a small one but Dwayne's first ever Marlin and a stunning little fish which we tagged & released.
Third fish of the day was a nice Sailfish and now that we had 2 Billfish species aboard & 2 hours fishing time left, sights were set on a Grand Slam, 3 Billfish species in a day!
The afternoon proved to be pretty slow and we did not get any more bites until about 30 from lines out a big Blue Marlin popped up and smashed our Hawaiian on the right short. We hooked the Fish and he took off like a steam train, with the reel going like crazy and the zing of the ratchet the sound that all Sport Fisherman live for. The fish took a lot of line and was crashing on the surface when the hook pulled! Our grand slam will have to wait for another day but it was awesome to see Dwayne hold on as his Blue Marlin did what they do best!
Can't wait to get back out there tomorrow!
