BLACK MARLIN, SAILFISH, TUNA & DORADO ABOARD GOOD DAY!
Andy, Briley & Cate joined us for a day of Offshore Fishing in Costa Rica today.
Andy & his son Finn had a great 1st day with us earlier in the week landing Yellow Fin Tuna of 94lb & 52lb along with 3 Sailfish. Today Andy fished along with his Daughter Briley & her friend Cate and we set off in search of Sailfish, Marlin & Tuna.
Within a minute of putting the lines in the water Briley was hooked up to a Sailfish which we tagged & released for Gray Fish Tag Research. Cate also got in on the Sailfish action tagging & releasing a nice fish.
We then found a group of Tuna & Spinner Dolphins and managed to catch 1 small Yellow Fin.
The highlight of the day came when an explosion occured behind the right short which was rigged with a Hawaiin, a Pink Islander & Ballyhoo Combo. The fish missed the bait first time but we got a solid hookup second time around & a stunning Black Marlin leapt into the air. It put on a great show with lots of jumps and took a lot of line, but experienced angler Andy had things well under control and had the 200lb fish boat side for a quick photo, Tag & Release in 12 minutes.
We added a Dorado to the days tally finishing up another awesome day on the water!
