Jimmy, Tony & Chris are taking a family fishing trip to Costa Rica and fantastic to have them fish aboard GOOD DAY today.
We headed 25 miles offshore in the direction of the Furuno Bank and searched for a good current line which we hoped would hold some Mahi. We could not find a current line today so we pushed 34 miles out and fished close to Furuno which was loaded which was loaded with bait today. Dolphins, Birds, Bonito were everywhere and it wasn't long before we had our first Sailfish in the spread which Chris did a great job on and released a 70 pounder.
Tony was up next and had Sailfish number 2 to the boat, a nice fish of around 100 pounds. An awesome start to the day with the two brothers both catching their first ever Billfish!
We then hooked into a double header of Mahi with Jimmy & Tony each getting a Fish to the boat. It wasn't long before Jimmy hooked into a Sailfish, releasing our 3rd of the day. We then got plagued by Bonitos for an hour or so and missed another couple of Sailfish & Mahi raises also.
It was a rainy day but the guys were delighted to get in amongst the Fish and we had a great day out there!
Final tally for the day:
3 for 5 on Sailfish
2 for 4 on Mahi
Lost count of Bonitos!
