We had an ultra slow day yesterday during the final day of fishing in Costa Rica with Daniel & Christoffer from Sweden and Walt from Pennsylvania. Just 1 real bite and a couple of knockdowns from the outriggers which resulted in perfect baits with not even a mark on them. Despite fishing super late and reaching the marina in darkness, we never landed a fish yesterday, apart from a Bonito which don’t count! That was only our second fishless day of the season from more than 100 days on the water over the past 4 months. We always work hardest on the slowest days, mentally more than anything, constantly changing baits, lures, teasers and fishing location. The slow days help lay the foundation to make the great days mean that much more, it’s all part of what we do and thanks to our Anglers in supporting us & hanging in their on the toughest days!
We were straight back at it today with Wayne & Eileene from the New York area. After great success in recent days catching huge Tarpon on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica it was time to check some more items off the bucket list. Wayne was delighted with 2 nice Sailfish, the largest measured 99 inches and est. 90lbs and a third Sailfish threw the hook.
So great to get back on the fish today & we’ll be Back out there tomorrow to try and do better!
