Billfishing in Quepos Costa Rica
We went on a Billfish mission during an Offshure trip a couple of days back aboard GOOD DAY with a great group of guys aboard from Mississippi. We marked lots of Sailfish from the off, seen fish tailing on the surface and lots of free jumpers and despite fishing our socks off, the bite just did not materialize.
We spent a couple of hours Livebaiting the Bonitos over the Reef for a Black Marlin. We marked 3 fish quickly and confidence was high for a bite but literally nothing touched our baits for a couple of hours. Capt. Marcos nearby on RAVEN close by released a Black Marlin which was great to see, it just was not our turn today.
Catch report for the day, 1 Sailfish released from 4 fish raised.
And just a stunning Sunset during the ride home, sometimes it isn’t always about the catching!
