We welcomed Steve Philips & family aboard GOOD DAY on 28 July for an offshore trip out of Quepos, Costa Rica. We had barely got the first lines in the water when a Marlin came into the spread and ate a Ballyhoo bait. The fish put up a great fight on 30lb class Sailfish tackle and after a 40 minute battle a beautiful Blue Marlin was alongside the boat, estimated at 250lb, an awesome fish!
A storm came in whilst the fish was being fought so once it was released we headed back to the safety of the Marina.
A short day but a successful one! (No photos unfortunately due to the rain)
There has been a good Marlin bite throughout July with most boats in the fleet getting in amongst the action, some recent catches in the photo below.
