We had a really special day aboard GOOD DAY fishing in Costa Rica with Kevin, Kim & Kathleen.
Within 20 minutes Kathleen was fighting her first ever Billfish, a Blue Marlin which put on some spectacular displays with countless jumps close to the boat. A stunning little fish of around 120-130lbs which we quickly tagged & released as 'Melville's Marlin'.
Next up was Kevin who caught his first ever Sailfish, the day had gotten off to a great start!
We then entered a quiet spell with one more raised Sail that did not want to eat & just before lunch time we had another hot fish in the spread which we managed to hook & after an exhausting battle Kim had a solid Sailfish of around 110lbs alongside the boat for a quick photo & release.
The day had already been great enough but then we encountered a big group of Spinner Dolphins so we got the Tuna tackle out & Kevin had a great time getting beat up by a 35lb Tuna on a spinning rod! That was dinner taken care of.
This day was always going to be more than just a Fishing trip & had a lot of meaning for everyone involved. We were thinking of family member Peter who could unfortunately not make the trip down from San Jose to join us. Next time Peter!
Fresh Sashimi with Grilled Tuna to follow at the Runaway Grill, was the perfect end to a perfect day!
