Great day offshore fishing in Costa Rica with Michael, Greg & Charlie yesterday! Congrats to 14 year old Charlie who released his first Sailfish in Costa Rica.
The day got off to an exciting start when we had a Blue Marlin in the spread within 10 minutes of setting the lines, which tried to eat our teaser and two different baits but we couldnt get the hook to stick.
We then got a real treat when we encountered a group of about 15 whales that we believe were False Killer Whales. 30 minutes later and we had a group of around 20 pilot whales around the boat, very cool!
We then had a BIG Mahi & a Sailfish in the spread which were both trying to eat the same teaser at the same time. The Mahi was literally a couple of feet from the boat as we tried to get the teaser out of the way and a bait to him. We didnt catch him but awesome to see.
A fantastic day out and awesome to see a young gun catch his first Billfish!
