Just an epic trip yesterday for our last outing before Christmas and fantastic to have Cross & Casey from Florida join us aboard GOOD DAY.
After quickly catching some Bonito livebaits to start the day, no sooner had we set them out did we have a Blue Marlin airborne but unfortunately it threw the hook on its first jump.
We pushed on but the next couple of hours out to 30 miles proved to be slow & fishless.
Thankfully our fortunes changed & we raised the second Marlin of the day, this time getting a solid hook set and Lady Angler Casey did amazing fighting the fish & getting it boatside in 20 minutes. A stunning Blue Marlin of around 200lb, which we tagged & released for the Gray FishTag Research program. To say the guys were delighted would be an understatement.
We then found an area which provided some great Dorado action, we caught a double, then a triple as well as a couple of singles. Mostly solid fish up to 48-50”. We kept 3 for dinner and tagged & released the rest for @gray fishtag research.
We then raised another Marlin, crossed got a Bonito pitch bait to it quickly but this fish was gone off the teaser as quick as it came si no luck on that one unfortunately.
Catch Report
1 for 2 Blue Marlin est. 200lb (109”) & raised 3 total
7 Dorados
0 for 1 Sailfish
Just an epic day on the water and so nice to have passionate Anglers Cross & Casey with us.
So that left us 3 for 6 on Blue Marlin on the last 2 days, Merry Christmas!
