The fourth & final day with Scott, Tyler & Jordan from Texas rounded off a spectacular week’s fishing for the guys. They had already enjoyed a fantastic week after catching 4 Blue Marlin to 250lbs, 4 Sailfish to 90lbs, Wahoo to 25lbs, Dorado to 50lb and Tuna to 60lb but the quality of fish just kept getting better as the week progressed!
Jordan got things started on day 4 with a 70lb Bull Dorado, which is a real specimen fish for the species, measuring 65 inches in length! The long standing world record from 1976 is 87lbs.
We then had a very slow couple of hours before deciding to pull the lines in & go searching for some activity which proved to be a great move as we encountered two different Tuna schools providing some excellent Tuna action to end the trip! We caught several 30-40 pounders until the final minutes of the trip when Scott hooked a fish & had the battle of his life fighting a 120lb+/- Tuna for 1 hour 50 minutes on 30lb stand up tackle, great effort!
What a great week it was Fishing in Costa Rica with the guys from Texas & hope to see them again soon!
