Day 2 - Costa Rican Species Hunt!
We decided to head Offshore today with Keith, Jon & Mick. The guys are not huge fans of trolling so our plan was to have plenty of variety and search for the best possible action.
We started out trolling & Keith put his first ever Yellow Fin Tuna on the deck to take care of dinner!
We then reverted to live Sardines & Bonitos fished over one of our Offshore Reefs. The action was fast & furious as the guys caught & released 11 good sized Rainbow Runners plus 4 big Jacks. At one point 4 fish were being fought at the same time!Bend rods & smiling faces all round!
We then spent the final part of the day bottom fishing in around 240 feet of water and added some further species, taking our final tally for the day to:
1 Yellow Fin Tuna
11 Rainbow Runners
4 Jacks
7 Grouper
7 Silky Snappers
2 Rabbit Fish
After 2 days of Fishing the guy's have caught 16 different species and next up is a 3 day trip to the OSA Peninsula, looking forward to seeing what further species we can add!
