Day’s 3 & 4 of Martin & Jessica’s Drake Bay/Osa Peninsula trip were a little slow, we were fighting green water and the topwater/popper fishing was not great but we did manage to catch a few Roosters & Jacks in beautiful surroundings on poppers & livebaits. We got smoked by a Cubera Snapper which broke us off in the Reef and had some more missed opportunities with Roosters on the popper.
Day 3
1 Roosterfish
2 Jacks
Day 4
4 Roosterfish
2 Jacks
The Rivermouths around the Osa Peninsula are just packed with tiny baitfish at the moment, most of it 1-2 inches long and just great to see such a healthy base of the food chain. No wonder the Tarpon have been feeding in the area along with Roosters, Snook, Snapper, Corvina, Jacks, Mackerel & more. And we were catching some interesting mini species whilst bait fishing
So a tough couple of days but as the saying goes, a bad day fishing beats a good day at work!!e to edit.
