1 Sailfish & 1 Dorado for Dustin, Erica, Gavin & Scarlett from California who joined us today aboard GOOD DAY here in Costa Rica.
The catch results did not reflect the fishing & we were SUPER close to having an almighty day at the office.
We had a frantic 90 minute period out at 30 miles where we raised 4 Blue Marlin, 3 Sailfish & 3 Dorado pretty much one after the other. We hooked 1 of the Blues which unfortunately threw the hook after a couple of minutes. Another Blue checked everything out but would just not commit & 5 minutes later we had a double Blue Marlin come through the spread sideways like matching freight trains, with the fish taking a swipe at a teaser and one of our 50s at exactly the same time, but neither fish connected & they did not come back for a second look.
We hooked all 3 Sails but unlucky to lose 2 of them during the fight.
There was a ton of bait out there which probably explains the aggressive but non commital behavior of the Marlin but great to see so many fish.
Thankfully Dustin seen every single Marlin and got to feel the brute force of one of them before it threw his hook but as we steamed back to the dock, it was definitely one of those days of what could have been.
I just love November fishing here at Marina Pez Vela & can’t wait to see what tomorrow has in store for us!
