It was a tough fishing day at the office yesterday but that did not dampen the spirits of the Thornton family who are visiting Costa Rica from North Carolina & had a great day on the water making family memories.
9 year old Ben & 13 year old Rose caught a couple of Jacks & a super cool Needlefish which the guys just loved the look of with all it’s crazy teeth. Catching sardines in the morning was a blast, we must have caught 50 & Ben caught a string of 5 sardines at once which he just loved!
Ben lost a big fish late in the day, we will not know if it was a big Rooster or a Cubera Snapper but the little guy did great until the hook finally pulled. We fished 2 rivermouths to try and find a Snook, the tide was perfect but the bite had just switched off yesterday.
We might not always catch what we set out for, but it is always an adventure & always something to see and learn. The kids enjoyed watching the Devils Rays jump all day along the beaches, learned about Rip Currents and how to handle them if ever caught up in one whilst swimming, why Pelicans & other birds often Fly in a V or a long line behind one another and just enjoying their time being on the water in beautiful surroundings.
Family memories made for a lifetime. Take your kids Fishing guys, more Tackle Box’s, less X-Box’s!
