Doug tells me the kids were so excited about their fishing trip they hardly slept last night!
The kids had a blast catching Sardines in the morning and Doug was kept busy for 10 mins by a nice Mackerel he had hooked on the very light Sardine tackle before it bust the trace! We spent some time trolling Rapalas around the Sardine shoals and caught a nice Jack & a Sierra which the kids were delighted with. We then headed over to the Naranjo rocks & immediately caught a nice Mackerel for dinner. We set the live baits and the bites came thick & fast from Jacks & Mackerel. The fish gave the kids excellent fights and it was great watching the Anglers of the future having so much fun.
Catch summary:
4 Jacks
1 Mackerel
1 Sierra
Lots of missed bites & bust leaders!
8 year old Raegan enjoyed his day so much that he offered to work on the boat for $10 a day but we agreed he would give me a call in 10 years!
A great day out and looking forward to heading offshore tomorrow!
