It was great to Fish with Dai Kent from the UK this week. We focussed the Fish on Roosterfish & Snook and showed Dai some of the excellent locations we have within easy reach of Quepos. We fished the Rocks & Islands past Dominicalito and despite a lost Sierra Mackerel at the net for Dai we didn't land anything here.
We went on to Fish the Rivermouths at Matapalo & Savegre which looked EXTREMELY fishy at Low tide but we never caught anything unfortunately. Next was the Naranjo rivermouth, the location of the 59lb 12oz World Record Pacific Black Snook. This area fished phenomenally just two days earlier but it seemed the bait and all predators had moved today apart from one missed bite from a Snapper. The Naranjo Rocks produced a couple of nice Jacks for Dai but we could not find the Rooster or Snook that we had set out in search of.
Bait was a real struggle and proved our nemisis today, with thousands of sardines showing on the sounder & surface that kid did not want to eat.
Great to have a passionate UK Angler aboard and we wish Dai good luck on his Fishing Adventure as he works his way up the CR pacific coast!
