Sometimes you just can’t make it up.
After catching zero the day before, we went back out there on Saturday & knocked it out of the park.
In the first 5 minutes of the day we raised a triple header of Sailfish, with husband & wife Harry & Michele catching a Sailfish apiece, just the perfect start to the trip. 84 year old Harry fished A LOT in his younger years but not so much recently & this day was a trip down memory lane for sure, accompanied by his son & our good friend Micah.
We got on some good Dorado action catching around 9 nice Dorado, we kept 3 and released 6, one of which we tagged for the Gray FishTag Research program.
The fish of the day was a stunning 40-45lb Bull Dorado which measured 58” caught by Harry.
Micah spent some time with the Fly Rod, missed two perfect opportunities for Dorado on the Fly but capitalized on the 3rd and caught a stunning 25lb Bull Dorado on Fly.
Then a short while later we raise a HUNGRY Blue Marlin which destroyed our teaser. It looked at Micah’s Fly several times but would not eat it, it wanted something bigger and after teasing it 4-5 times it eventually faded away.
We finished the day with another Sail & headed back for the comfort of Marina Pez Vela, content with a truly special day on the water and family memories made for a lifetime.
