The 46' CARIBSEA has just returned from another epic few days at the famed FADS & Seamounts off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Jeremy & friends from South Africa made the long journey to Costa Rica and experiencing the finest Blue Marlin fishing on the planet was firmly on the top of their bucket lists whilst having the opportunity to fish for Roosterfish a priority also. The guys joined us aboard the 31' GOOD DAY and had a great day Inshore fishing in Quepos Costa Rica where they caught 4 good sized Roosterfish, a nice Cubera Snapper and a Dinosaur sized Needlefish! Their trip to the Costa Rica Marlin FADS & Seamounts did not dissapoint either! Over the course of 3 days fishing CARIBSEA had bites from 32 Marlin, getting the all important release on 17 Blue Marlin aswell as catching a Sailfish and a Dorado for good measure. 17 Blue Marlin in 3 days fishing, yes that is not a typo!!
The Costa Rica Marlin FADS & Seamounts are the #1 place in the world to catch Blue Marlin and the crew aboard CARIBSEA and some other great boats in the Marina Pez Vela Quepos are proving this time and again, what an exceptional Marlin FADS season it has been so far and it is not over yet! If you are travelling from the States or Canada you can literally do a Marlin FADS trip over the course of a long weekend. We will pick you up from the Int'l Airport in San Jose, a driver will transfer you to the Marina where the boat will be waiting, choose your trip length or 2, 3, or 4 nights at sea and then the driver will bring you back to the airport after the trip. Literally no hotel needed if you are pushed for time, eat, drink, fish and sleep on the boat. If you have more time or are travelling from further afield then plan on being in Costa Rica for a week and take a Marlin FAD trip of 3 or 4 nights which is the perfect trip length to maximise fishing time.
I cannot wait to get back out there with the Fly Rod! I am still looking for redemption after a 250lb Blue destroyed my 20lb tippet!!
