MARLIN, SAILFISH AND DORADO FISHING ABOARD GOOD DAY COSTA RICA
Joe & Beth from Minnesota joined us aboard GOOD DAY today with the goal of ticking a Billfish off Joe’s Bucketlist.
We fished out to 38 miles, thankfully the stars aligned and it was not long before Joe was doing battle with his first ever Blue Marlin which he tagged & released for Gray FishTag Research on 30lb stand up tackle. Result!!
And the Marlin shots kept coming, we raised a Sail/Marlin double but both faded off without committing to a proper bite. And then it was Beth’s turn, our second Marlin hookup of the day, again on 30lb tackle had Beth going toe to toe with a stunning little Blue Marlin which was probably not much more than 80lbs and 7 foot tip to tip. We caught a couple of 20lb class Bull Dorados & then hooked another Marlin in the last hour of the day, only for it to throw the hook during its first run.
