5 Sailfish & 3 Dorado was the catch of the day aboard GOOD DAY yesterday for Josh, Justin, Buck and young guns Jack, Cooper & Max who joined us from Idaho.
We may have broken a new boat record when we lost a staggering 8 Sailfish in a row during the early part of the day before going on a great run to close out the day catching 5 Sails from our final 5 bites of the day, phew! After we lost about the 5th fish, One of the guys said he seen a Black Cat (Gato Negro) in the marina before we departed (no joke!).
It seemed the curse lasted long enough for 8 lost Sailfish before we could shake it off. As we pulled into the dock at 5.30pm, no word of a lie, the Black Cat was sat there again!! Hopefully we don’t see him today!
Onto the fishing, 5 of the guys were delighted to release their first ever Sailfish & Brothers Cooper & Max had a blast with their double Sailfish hookup. Coopers fish taking 30 minutes to get the better of and when we got it boatside it was a huge fish we estimated at 120lbs. Some real big girls out there today, a couple in the 100lb class & we measured one that went 108” tip to tip.
The guys had a blast tagging their own fish for Gray FishTag Research, fingers crossed for a recapture in the future!
Just a great day on the water with an awesome bunch of guys, when are you coming to visit!?
