The atmosphere was electric for Day 1 and the start of the Offshore World Championship (OWC) out of the Marina Pez Vela, Quepos Costa Rica.
66 teams from 29 countries set out for the first of 4 days fishing to see who will be crowned Offshore World championships.
It was fantastic to see our sister boat 'Good Day Too' take top honours in day 1 of the tournament with their team from St Lucia catching 19 Sailfish, awesome job guys! 17 Sailfish took 2nd spot, 14 Sails took 3rd.
We welcomed a team of young guns from Trinidad all between the age of 16-25, that all really love their fishing and run a very organised team, great to watch them in action. Matthew, Paul, Sean, Morgan & Isaiah won the Budget Marine Spice Island Billfish Tournament to qualify for the OWC and it is excellent to see them competing in Costa Rica at the highest level.
We ended the day releasing 5 Sailfish to place 40th out of 66 boats.
