Family, friends & fishing! To combine all three is a blessing in itself. There was not much Guinness here in Costa Rica for Paddy’s Day but plenty of Fishing, Beers, “1 or 2 Tequilas” & some great Irish Food from the fabulous Z Gastro Bar
Aboard our #littlegreenboat GOOD DAY we fished not one, but TWO tournaments this weekend! The 8th Annual Quepos Billfish Cup & The International Sailfish Tournament from the Amateur Fishing Club of Costa Rica!
Our catch tally for the weekend:
Day 1 - 2 Sailfish, 2 Tuna, 1 Dorado
Day 2 - 1 Sailfish, 1 Tuna
Day 3 - 8 Sailfish (from 10 bites, 12 raises)
In the Quepos Billfish Cup we took home the $$ for the Dorado & Tuna Jackpots on both day 1 & day 2, result - our lucky Fishing shirts certainly did the trick!! In the Amateur Fishing Club event we fished with 20lb line to International light tackle rules and had a great time catching 11 Sailfish. Huge congrats to Jeff Duchesneau for hooking, catching, tagging & releasing his first ever unassisted Sailfish, great job buddy!
Huge thanks to my awesome crew Capt Manuel Gabuardi & Yoxan Gabuardi for a solid weekend and to Carter Takacs Scott Cutter & Jeff, great to fish with you guys, lots of laughs & memories!
Just over a month until our next tournament, the Marina Pez Vela Open!
Oh yeah, why the dinosaurs.......? WHY NOT!
