First ever Billfish for Gavyn!
It was a total pleasure to have Father & Son team Brian and Gavyn aboard GOOD DAY yesterday fishing in Costa Rica.
It turned out to be a slow day at the office but the guys kept their preserverence and never gave up.
After spending some time learning how to rig up a Ballyhoo, 17 year old Gavyn managed to catch his first ever Sailfish on the Ballyhoo he had just rigged up himself, result!
It is always great to see a young guy appreciate and cherish the experience of catching their first ever Billfish. Gavyn tagged his Sailfish for Gray FishTag Research and named it “Sorry Fred”, a little joke for his Grandfather who always says that Gavyn’s Father is the better fisherman....not today Grandad!
