Yesterday was just one of those days that reminds us why we do what we do.
Mary Ann from Connecticut decided that when each of her grandchildren turns 16 she will share an overseas trip with them to somewhere that appeals to the child’s interests. After a cultural trip to Italy with her granddaughter a couple of years ago, she thought Costa Rica was the perfect place for her grandson Aaron to visit, to stimulate his love for nature, wildlife & do a spot of fishing.
High on Aarons Bucketlist was to catch a Mahi Mahi and he managed to catch 2 mini Mahis in the first 10 mins of fishing, you should have seen the smile on his face!
After a slow week on the Billfish, we thankfully found a few and caught 4 Sailfish, losing 2 more. Aaron hooked into another fish which pulled about 300 yards of line off the reel on its first run & then threw the hook without showing itself! We will never know what that one was, but possibly a Marlin.
A fantastic day with memories to be cherished for a lifetime for a grandmother & her grandson, just great to be involved.
