3/5th’s of our Tournament proven team #peytonspirates Dan, John, Jerry & Peyton joined us for a full day offshore. After a super slow start & no luck on the Wahoo we managed to find some good action and caught 4 Sailfish from about 7 bites, raising a few more. Great to see Jerry & Peyton catch their first double Sailfish together & remember their good friend who just passed away whilst appreciating the beauty of the Pacific. Very often it means more than just a fishing trip aboard Good Day.
After having fun with the Sails we pulled the lines in and ran out deep to 3500’ in search of Tuna. Whether it was 30 years experience, good intuition, pure luck or a combo of all 3 (most likely!), Capt. Manuel Gabuardi put us on the motherload of Tuna.
There was a huge group of we found a big group of spinner dolphins loaded with Tuna and we quickly proceeded to catch 9 Tuna up to 50lbs on our Squidnation Squids and missed/lost a few more larger fish.
We seen a Humpback Whale out there plus dolphins, turtles and had simply incredible weather. Just a great day to be out there.
We have a couple of Inshore trips this weekend where the small Yellow Fin Tuna (3-10lb) & Mackerel are biting strong & then we are back to Offshore with a couple of trips later next week.
Finally, the news that we have been waiting for a long time, Costa Rica announced in recent days that we are opening our borders to UK, Europe & Canada with effect from 1st August. Direct Flights from Madrid & Frankfurt commence early August with direct flights from Canada & UK in due course. More details to follow soon but if you fancy a last minute fishing trip in the coming few months for Tuna, Marlin, Wahoo, Dorado, Sails, Roosters & more, I would love to hear from you & will cut you a hell of a deal on the fishing and accommodation prices are super low right now too.
Tight Lines!
