We have had some fantastic species variety this week during our fishing trips aboard GOOD DAY here in Costa Rica.
We enjoyed a Sailfish fest during yesterday’s trip, trophy Roosterfish on Wednesday and on Tuesday’s charter, young gun Gabe from Tennessee caught a 57” Wahoo which earned him the bragging rights for “fish of the day”!
The day started off with a bang when Gabe’s brother John was dropping back a ballyhoo as we we’re setting the first lines of the day when a Marlin bill appeared behind his bait. After a quick flurry of action the fish was on and we had a Blue Marlin tail walking behind the boat! The crazy thing was, we had only had the baits in the water 30 seconds! The Marlin made quick work of emptying John’s 30lb class reel before throwing the hook after a few minutes. Amazing experience for 16 year old John, a reminder of anything can happen at any time and certainly a new story of the one that got away for this young guy!
We added 3 Tuna to the tally later in the day and raised a couple of Sailfish that would not eat.
It’s always an adventure out there & this day was certainly no exception!
