COSTA RICA MARLIN FISHING - Multi-day overnight trips

​In early 2026 there were some changes to Costa Rican laws which presently prohibit the deployment & fishing at FADS (Fish Aggrevating Devices) in Costa Rica.  Blue Marlin fishing at the Offshore FADS & Seamounts in Costa Rica has been extremely productive for in excess of 10 years drawing global attention to this very special fishery where large numbers of Blue Marlin have been caught.  In light of the recent changes in laws, we now offer multi day/overnight Offshore fishing adventures which target Marlin aswell as Sailfish, Tuna, Dorado and more.   These trips are for hard core Anglers looking to target Marlin and more whilst Fishing Offshore for a 3-4 night adventure off the coast of Costa Rica.  Large comfortable Sport Fishing yachts are used where you will sleep on the boat, be served 3 meals daily and fish dawn to dusk.  You can also opt to start your adventure with an Inshore Roosterfish trip or spend a day or two fishing the ridges and reefs closer to shore, typically in the 20-40 mile range targeting Black Marlin & more aboard 31' Express style boats such as GOOD DAY.

  • Day 1 - Depart Marina Pez Vela, Quepos between 5-10pm & chug overnight to the Fishing grounds
  • Day 2 - Fish all day (approx 12 hours, 6am-6pm) 
  • Day 3 - fish all day (approx 12 hours, 6am-6pm) & commence overnight journey back to Quepos​
  • Day 4 - Arrive at Marina Pez Vela, Quepos before 6am the following morning
