Offshore fishing costa rica

Daniel, Keisa, Paige, Katelyn & Jamie from Atlanta joined us aboard GOOD DAY today fishing in Costa Rica, which was the first Offshore fishing experience for most of the group. We headed 23 miles out to one of the Offshore Reefs where we had caught a nice Wahoo a couple of days back and the Dorado bite had been strong yesterday. What a difference a day makes though as there was very little activity on the Reef today, with hardly any bait showing or pelagic species showing in the upper part of the water column. We lost a fish, then missed another, however, a big Bonito was the only fish we landed at the Reef and they don’t really count! 😀

We picked up and ran 11 miles down the coast to change things up and hopefully end the day on a stronger note than it started. Thankfully we found some fish and the guys caught 3 nice sized Dorados which allowed us all to breath a sigh of relief as they had a chef coming to their villa tonight to cook their catch!

So all in all a slow days fishing but as the saying goes, a bad days fishing is better than a great day at work!
