It was nice to be back out on the water today as we went in search of the Humpback Whales that frequent the Pacfic Coast of Costa Rica at this time of year. We spotted four Whales today, the first two were really shy and kept going deep so we didn’t get any good photos. Then a mother & baby put an incredible show on constantly breaching about a mile in front of the boat. True to form when we made our way over they disappeared out of sight again.
We were lucky to get some great sights of some Olive Ridley Turtle loving though! And we seen a Hawksbill Turtle also. After taking our kids to release baby turtles at local turtle sanctuary recently, it really brings it home when you see these guys doing their thing in the wild. So fortunate to have such amazing sights in our backyard.
On to the fishing! We went 8-9 miles out today looking for the debris lines that are usual this time of year due to the seasonal rains hoping to find some Dorado but no luck on that front unfortunately. As we pushed further inshore we caught a couple of Mackerel in the 5lb range.
All in all a lovely afternoon on the water & we are heading Offshore tomorrow, can’t wait to see what’s out there!
